Reporting an error

Write to cockroach@sarkaar.wtf. Include the page, the specific claim, and what is wrong with it. If you have a source that contradicts us, send it — that is the fastest route to a fix.

• We aim to acknowledge within 72 hours.
• A claim that is disputed and cannot be immediately resolved is marked as disputed on the page while we check.
• A claim we cannot stand up is removed, not quietly softened.
• Every material change is logged below, including removals.

• 26 JUL 2026Replaced the landscape India Today resignation report in the home-page reel with NDTV's portrait footage of the moment the news reached Jantar Mantar, and moved the clip to the first position.
• 26 JUL 2026Removed the September 2025 Leh curfew footage from the home-page reel and replaced it with India Today coverage of Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation on 25 July 2026.
• 26 JUL 2026Corrected a quote attributed to the Chief Justice. The line 'we are banning the uploading and sharing of audio-video recordings of court hearings without prior permission' was presented as something he said; it is a news headline describing a written interim order of a three-judge bench. The order also exempts news reporting — omitting that made it read as a blanket ban the court did not impose. Now stated as an order, with the exemption, and linked.
• 26 JUL 2026Corrected a quote attributed to Senior Advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan. It read 'I have seen 110 videos'; two wire reports of the same hearing say his team examined over 130, and neither renders it in the first person. Replaced with the reported figure and linked.
• 26 JUL 2026Corrected the claim that Kunal Kamra 'amplified protest footage and called out the police action at Jantar Mantar'. Nothing published supports it, and the only article about him here predates the 20 July crackdown. Replaced with what is on the record: he addressed the sit-in on 16 July.
• 26 JUL 2026Restored the original wording of Gitanjali Angmo's statement about her husband's treatment. It had been silently tidied into standard grammar while still carrying quotation marks.
• 26 JUL 2026Corrected the date of Dharmendra Pradhan's 'B-team of terrorists' remark from June 2026 to July 2026, and separated the two claims about Choudhary Honey Dagar so each carries its own source. His identification as a police officer was previously supported only by a report that called it unconfirmed; it is now linked to reporting in which Delhi Police confirm the plainclothes men were officers.
• 25 JUL 2026Removed four anonymous entries from the hall of shame (an unidentified officer, a lathi-charge commander, a plainclothes figure, and a barricade clerk). They carried specific allegations of assault and bribery with timestamps and detail that were written as design placeholders and were never sourced or supported by footage. They should not have been published.
• 25 JUL 2026Corrected the home-page counters. They previously read 482 clips archived, 12 people on record and 214 hours of footage; the archive actually held 18 clips and 17 people, and total footage duration was never measured. All counters are now computed from the database.
• 25 JUL 2026Removed the claim that footage is 'face-matched', in the hero copy and the site description. No face matching has ever been performed. The accompanying demonstration, which displayed invented match confidences, has been deleted.
• 25 JUL 2026Stopped displaying 'VERIFIED' as the default status on person pages, and '✓ HASHED' on clips with no source. Both were fallback text shown when data was missing; neither reflected any verification or hashing.
• 25 JUL 2026Removed eight uncited statistics from the site-wide ticker. Their sources were named only in a code comment. They will return only with per-figure links.
• 25 JUL 2026Removed the location 'Jantar Mantar' from person pages, where it had been shown for everyone regardless of whether they were documented there.
